“Lovely place for food, atmosphere is nice, staff friendly and helpful. This inn is set on the Gloucester Road between Stroud, Edge and on to Gloucester. The view is amazing of Painswick Beacon, Bisley and Painswick itself. The food was really good and nice and hot. There is seating to sit outside and relax. “…I visited with my partner for a reasonably early dinner around 7 pm. Unusually we both went for the same options, the battered cod & chips with peas and an excellent homemade tartar sauce with Blackberry & Apple Crumble to follow with divine homemade custard. The cod was clearly very fresh and the batter was light & crisp… Oh, and if you’ve never been to visit when it’s daylight, the view is to die for.
