“A really nice restaurant set up on a slope with beautiful views downhill. Food is good and selection is quite extensive, however it’s a bit on the pricier side and the mains took a little long to come. Thankfully the view is worth it and the food and drinks are good too. There is beers on tap, as well as a good selection of other bottled drinks.
A good stop over after walking the Cotswold way. Take note that muddy boots will not be allowed into the restaurant, but they do provide boot covers or the option of taking off your boots or even sitting outdoor where the beautiful scenery is.” – Mymi, Google Review, June 2024

“Lovely place for food, atmosphere is nice, staff friendly and helpful. This inn is set on the Gloucester Road between Stroud, Edge and on to Gloucester. The view is amazing of Painswick Beacon, Bisley and Painswick itself. The food was really good and nice and hot. There is seating to sit outside and relax. “I stumbled across The Edgemoor Inn whilst driving past and arrived with no expectations. From the moment that I walked through the door I was made to feel welcome. My table had magnificent views across the valley. There was a selection of drinks to suit most tastes: I thoroughly enjoyed a well-kept pint of bitter from the local Uley brewery. The food was freshly prepared with care and attention to detail. Both starter and main were exceptionally good. The menu has a good selection of meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes. “…I visited with my partner for a reasonably early dinner around 7 pm. Unusually we both went for the same options, the battered cod & chips with peas and an excellent homemade tartar sauce with Blackberry & Apple Crumble to follow with divine homemade custard. The cod was clearly very fresh and the batter was light & crisp… Oh, and if you’ve never been to visit when it’s daylight, the view is to die for.
