From the 11th to 14th March 2025, the Cheltenham Festival brings together the greatest horse racing spectacle in the world to Cheltenham. Tuesday sees the opening of the festival with the Champion Hurdle, which has seen the start of some legendary careers. On Wednesday, the Festival begins with a focus on racing and fashion. Attendees are invited to show off their style to celebrate 100 years of Gold Cup fashions. The feature race is the Queen Mother Championship chase, with the fastest jump horses in the world on display.
Champion Day: Tuesday, March 11th
Tuesday is all about the Champion Hurdle! This is a really fast and exciting race where the best hurdling horses show off their speed and jumping skills. The whole place buzzes with energy, and everyone is cheering for their favourite horses. It’s a great way to kick off the festival, and you’ll see some incredible displays of athleticism.
Style Wednesday: Wednesday, March 12th
Wednesday is Ladies Day, which means it’s time for fancy dresses and stylish hats! While everyone looks their best, the horses are still the stars of the show. The Queen Mother Champion Chase is a highlight, and it’s another super-fast race with lots of amazing jumps. You’ll see some seriously talented horses and jockeys.
St. Patrick’s Thursday: Thursday, March 13th
Thursday is St. Patrick’s Day at Cheltenham, and it’s a huge celebration! Expect lots of green outfits, Irish music, and a really fun party atmosphere. The Stayers’ Hurdle is the big race of the day, and these horses have to run a long distance and jump lots of hurdles. It’s a test of their stamina and skill, and it’s always a thrilling watch.
Gold Cup Day: Friday, March 14th
Friday is the biggest day of all, Gold Cup Day! The Cheltenham Gold Cup is the most famous race of the festival, and it’s where the best steeplechasers in the world compete. It’s a long and tough race, and the winner is crowned the champion. The atmosphere is electric, and everyone is so excited to see who will win the Gold Cup.
