To make the most of any visit to Stroud you really need to get out of town and explore the local area, which means you’ll no doubt stumble across our hospitable 19th Century Edgemoor Inn which is, quite literally, on the Edge. - The Enchanted Garden

It’s time to float away with the fairies at Painswick’s magical Enchanted Garden. Enter a world of ethereal dancing fairies, fiery dragons and mischievous woodland boggarts – beautifully sculpted in willow – hiding among the woodlands and in the maze at the famous Rococo Garden.

- Bug-Tastic Day at Dr Jenner’s House

Edward Jenner, born in 1749, is most remembered and revered for inventing the smallpox vaccination. First and foremost though he had an abiding passion for the natural world and horticulture as you’ll discover if you visit his home in Berkeley, now a museum. This summer there’s been a run of fun at Dr Jenner’s House, and the latest in the line-up is a Bug-tastic day where you can learn about the wonderful world of mini-beasts and explore the beautiful gardens.

- Children’s Book Festival

A brand new children’s book festival dedicated to nature, animals and the outdoors is happening over three days, with workshops, performances, activities, trails, book signings and craft sessions galore.
Billed as “Wild Wonder at Westonbirt” this event for young bookworms has drawn some top names from the inspirational world of children’s literature.

- Stonehouse Walking Festival

The lovely town of Stonehouse in the Stroud District is the centre of one of the Cotswold’s most popular walking festivals.
