We are very proud of our local area and promote the great cultural events and activities that happen here. We’ve pulled together seven varied and fun and fantastic events happening across Gloucestershire, Cheltenham & Stroud this summer.

  • Open Air Cinema Gloucester / Cheltenham – Encanto (Rated U)

When: Sun, 28th August 2022, 12:30 – 16:30
Where: Dowty Sports & Social Ltd, Down Hatherley Lane, Gloucester, GL2 9QH
We may not talk about Bruno, but we talk about the film festival, Picnic in the Park. The open-air cinema screening of Encanto (rated U) is a perfect event for all the family. There will be catering units on site, however, people are more than welcome to bring their own snacks and refreshments. Tickets start from £7.99 for those under 16s and £12.00 for adults. More information.

  • Run The Rainbow

When: 17th July 2022, 11:00 – 14:30
Where: Cotswold Airport, Kemble Airfield, Cirencester, GL7 6BQ
Turn up in your bright whites and leave the colours of the rainbow. This amazing fun run is in aid of Longfield Community Hospice and is sponsored by Taylor Wimpey. You can choose to walk, dance, run, hop the 5k route and have a riot of fun, with different elements at each kilometre station such as foam, powder paint, inflatable obstacles and more. Registration cost £15 – £20, with the money going towards the cost of running the event and the Longfield Community Hospice. More Information.

  • Paint and Prosecco!

When: 13th January 2022 – 15th December 2022, 19:00 – 21:30
Where: Paint It Yourself Pottery Co, 76 Winchcombe Street, Cheltenham, GL52 2NW
Come along with some friends, family or even by yourself for a night of fun therapeutic and hands-on painting. With a choice of over 400 pieces of pre-made pottery waiting to be personally painted, there will be something to suit you. All materials are provided, including the firing process. You’ll be greeted with a free glass of prosecco on arrival and you are more than welcome to bring your own alcohol. Tickets cost £19.46. 18+. More information.

  • An Evening with Katie Fforde (Churchdown Litfest)

Where: Churchdown School Academy, Winston Road, Churchdown, GL3 2RB
Join Sunday Times bestselling novelist Katie Fforde for an evening of discussion, on the writing process, and literature. Author of favourites such as A Vintage Wedding, A Summer at Sea, and A Perfect Proposal, Katie Fforde will be discussing her recent novel, A Wedding in Provence, which you’ll have the opportunity to buy and have signed by the author.   • Great British Bake Off – The Musical

Grab your pinnies and rolling pin, the Great British Bake Off – The Musical is coming to Cheltenham. If you’re a fan of the runaway hit TV show, first on BBC, now on Channel 4, this is an unmissable event. Starring John Owen-Jones and Rosemary Ashe and a host of critically acclaimed actors, Great British Bake Off – The Musical with have you falling in love with the show all over again.   • Creating Spaces sculpture exhibition

When: 13th June to 31st July 2022, 10:00 – 17:00
Where: Miserden, Stroud GL6 7JA
Come and tour the amazing gardens at Miserden, presented by Cotswold Sculptors Association. This beautiful indoor and outdoor sculpture exhibition shows the incredible work of talented sculptors. If you fall in love with one of the pieces of art, you will have the opportunity. Under 16s free, Adult £9. For more information.

  • Wimbledon Big Screen

When: 27th June to Sunday 10th July 2022, 11:00 – 21:00
Where: Wimbledon Big Screen at The Brewery Quarter, Cheltenham
If you’re a huge tennis fan or just love any excuse to make a picnic and spend the day in the sun, the big screen in Cheltenham’s Brewery Quarter is the place for you this summer. With rows of deckchairs and plenty of eateries to enjoy, you can cheer on your favourites in comfort. There is no need to book and it’s free. For more information.
