Westonbirt, a Cathedral of Trees

The vast expanse of the National Arboretum at Westonbirt covers over 600 acres and 15,000 specimens. Though June is typically regarded as the best month to visit the arboretum, July and August come close. The trees are in full bloom and the weather makes for a lovely walk around the different paths. Also, you can bring your four-legged friends to the Silk Woods for a run about in the lovely weather and make the most of your surrounds.

Tree and Gardens in Full Glory

July and August offer a range of seasonal stars – the summer-flowering trees like the handkerchief tree, magnolias, and rhododendrons. Explore the themed collections including the Japanese maples, conifers, and the famous Silk Wood area with its towering giants.
